There's no question that children and teenagers face a whole range of complex issues today that didn't seem so prevalent just a few decades ago. And there's no question that they are struggling.
The experience of a single incident of trauma or grief in childhood--loss of a loved one from illness or violence, a devastating natural disaster--can have overwhelming consequences. With repeated experiences, the effects are cumulative and the risks for developing lasting mental health issues are multiplied.
Texas Children's Trauma and Grief Center is committed to helping children and families address these challenges and find hope and healing in a whole new way.
